Konica Minolta launches Webjet presses
New inkjet devices premiere in US, company claims highest measured true resolution in market

Konica Minolta is unveiling two new continuous feed inkjet presses, the WEBjet 200D and the WEBjet100D, which are currently making their world debut in the US.

The company says the devices are soon to be officially launched as a result of a three-way, marketing, distribution and servicing partnership with Super Web and Memjet. Manufactured by Super Web, and powered by Memjet printhead technology, Konica Minolta says both continuous feed inkjet printers deliver high quality, high speed and high volume to the transaction, direct mail, publishing and in-plant business sectors.

The Webjet line will supposedly complement Konica Minolta’s existing cut sheet toner and inkjet products, and the company says it will provide customers with a proven technology at an attractive acquisition cost. Konica Minolta claims the devices have the highest-measured true resolution in the market and a compact design that comes standard with rollstand and stacker, making them was built to perform in the current competitive business environment.

Dino Pagliarello, vice president, Product Management and Planning, Konica Minolta says “We are pleased with this new strategic alliance because, first and foremost, it will benefit the marketplace. All in all, it’s a mutually favourable arrangement for everyone. The addition of the WEBjet 200D and 100D fills a gap in our product portfolio we wanted to address. And, it gives Super Web, the manufacturer, and by extension, Memjet, the digital technology provider, a suite of marketing and servicing capabilities to address a wider customer base. This is a win-win partnership.”

Konica Minolta says through machine engineering born out of years of offset lithography experience, the WebJet gives medium-size companies a simple and affordable way to step up to high-quality, variable data colour. According the company the new presses have a volume capacity of up to 20 million duplex colour letter size pages per month, making them the right choice for shifting page volume from offset to digital, or moving colour toner volume to a more affordable platform. The company says a single operator can manage the WebJet’s large volume continuous feed — matching or exceeding the productivity of multiple cut-sheet digital machines and operators.
