Epson to launch DTG press at VI

Epson will be focusing on fabric at its stand in the Brisbane Visual Impact show this week, launching its new SureColor F2160 direct-to-garment (DTG) printer alongside the new SureColor F9360 wide-format textile printer.

Epson says the SureColor SC-F2160 raises productivity while enhancing output quality and reducing running costs. The printer is said to be capable of making full colour prints on a range of items including t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts and tote bags. The company claims it also incorporates a host of enhancements with easier job set-up, faster loading, and faster printing.

According to Epson, the printer features new print modes for improved imaging with reduced graininess and an enhanced gamut. Ink and print systems have also been said to be enhanced to enable improved reliability with reduced user maintenance.

Epson says its other device on display, the F9360 wide-format printer is  designed to deliver high quality digital dye-sublimation transfers at high speed for a range of textile and apparel applications. The 64-inch printer delivers is said to deliver high image quality along with production speeds of up to 93 sqm per hr. The company says the printer features an integrated new fabric wiping system coupled with a highly accurate roll-to-roll media support system to handle economical lightweight transfer papers. The SureColor F9360 was also the winner of the 2017 SGIA Product of the Year Award in the Roll-to-Roll Dye Sublimation on Textile category.

In addition to the textile printers, Epson will be showing the SureColor Solvent 6060, designed for rapid and cost-effective production of durable indoor/outdoor signage. Epson says it suits a wide range of applications including displays and POS, shades, screens, banners and vehicle wraps. In conjunction with a cutter, the company says it can even be used for label production. It is said to suit medium to high production volumes and can be used with a wide range of media including paper, canvas, film and vinyl.

The SureColor Solvent 80600, will also be showcased. Epson says it boasts Pantone coverage exceeding 98 per cent and is designed to produce durable high-impact, high-value graphics with high image quality. The company says it can be used with a wide range of media including paper, canvas, film and vinyl and is ideal for applications including indoor/outdoor POS and signage, window decorations and back-lit displays, surface finishes, wallpapers, and décor.

Epson’s final demo area at the show is dedicated to posters, graphics and technical printing and is represented by the SureColor P20070 and SureColor T5200D.The company says its SureColor Production 20070 is a 64" (1,626mm) large format printer designed to suit large format saleable photography or commercial POS. According to Epson, it offers production speeds of up to 38m2/hr and supports media up to 1.5mm thick. Epson says it uses a low cost 10 colour ink set and incorporates a special LLk ink for gloss optimisation. Dedicated Photo and Matte Black channels are said to ensure minimum waste and there is an optional precision ATU available for roll-to-roll production.
 
The SC-T5200D for plans, drawings or cost posters, which will also be on display. Epson says the printer will print an A0 image in as little as 50 seconds with output that dries almost instantly to be water and rub resistant. The company says it is highly cost-effective to run, with low power and low ink consumption. The device is said to be designed for business, corporate, educational and government environments, the printer features a small footprint and dual roll loading. Epson says it can be ordered with optional high-speed Postscript for drag-n-drop P4P applications as well as a large format scanner for full print, scan, copy, and share functionality.
