PacPrint day one

23 May 2017 |  Athina Mallis   |   Comment Now

Day one of PacPrint and the hall is buzzing with excitement as vendors display their new toys for the industry. ProPrint has spoken to Print and Pack, NeoPost, PrintIQ, Accura and Hero Print to see what they are showing at the Melbourne exhibition.

PRINT AND PACK

Print and Pack is showcasing its new Morgana Digifold Pro 385 Creaser Folder, an upgrade from the older model the Digifold Pro Creaser Folder.

It is a creasing and folding machine, a fourth generation of the Digifold series, which the company says is offering further levels of automation to meet today’s demanding applications. It is equipped with the latest in technology to enable automatic set up of jobs, including setting of all feeder functions and fold roller settings, by selecting parameters on the Morgana SmartSccreen touch screen control.

The new deep pile filler allows stacking up to 450mm of paper to enable long runs. It is equipped with a SmartStep tsble drop for fast loading of shorter run jobs.

Carsten Wendler, managing director, Print and Pack says, “It is an improvement from the old model. It is more productive and efficient. We are launching it today at PacPrint but we displayed it at drupa last year.

“The difference between the new Digifold and the old Digifold is the feeder which has a far greater level of automation. It has an automatic set up.”

Neopost

Neopost is launching its financial service, NeoSuite, a payment option for the company.

The programme offers flexibility for every customer to build their own solutions package, and is tailored to the needs of each specific business that is looking to expand and grow.

Brad Pawlyszyn, national sales manager, Neopost finance says, “This makes it easier for turnkey solutions such as wide format printers. No one has done end-to-end solution peripherals that are not just hardware.

“Customers have the option to start traditionally and then can change because Neopost can run things internally as we do not need to go through a bank. People can be fussy and everyone’s needs are always changing fast.”

The programme has been officially launched at PacPrint. NeoPost is also displaying its new spot UV Machine, Duplo DC-810 Spot UV.

Jimmy Nguyen, national product manager at NeoPost says, “The liquid UV layer creates a raised image. We are launching this in Australia as we wanted to differentiate service in terms of looks and speed for example, business cards.”

Nguyen says it is a NeoPost exclusive and is available for purchase now.

PrintIQ

PrintIQ has launched a new scanner app and a new range of modules in addition to its core eight modules for its MIS.

Mick Rowan, director and head of R&D, print IQ says some of these new modules include a new auto preflight and an integrated Freeflow core.

“There are two big modules one with full capacity planning and also a drag and drop run utilisation making it user friendly. The beta is currently running at the moment and the full version will be released in July.

Rowan says with the printIQ new scanner app staff can run their jobs on a smartphone wherever they are.

“It is inexpensive technology making jobs simple. It is a responsive app, you do not need a computer. When you log on to the app it knows who you are. It also has live updates and a full history of jobs for a staff member,” he says.

“We will be extending the app so it can scan inventory items. I have not seen any one do this,” he adds.

Both the scanner app and modules are available now.

Accura

Accura is at PacPrint showcasing its latest complete solution version 5.2, which Trevor Cocks, managing director say has a number of enhancements.

“Some of these enhancements include, delivering optimum W2P and complete client branding especially for customer websites.”

Cocks says the MIS has more than 20 new enhancements.

“We have one major upgrade a year and a minor upgrade every three months. The major upgrade coincides with PacPrint.”

Cocks says it supports digital printer Ideal Solution, who are based in NSW.

Hero Print

Hero Print has a presence in Sydney but want to branch out and has come down to PacPrint to show visitors who they are and what they are about.

Wade Brown, senior account manager at Hero Print says they have rebranded the website.

“We are letting people know who we are, being here we can show people what we can do. We are showing Melbourne what we have and making our presence known,” he says.

Hero Print is showing stock selections, custom foiling and hot stamp foiling.
